Adam in "Diaries of Adam and Eve", a chamber opera by Evan Premo

  • The Sembrich 400 Lake Shore Drive Bolton Landing, NY 12824 USA (map)

“The Diaries of Adam and Eve,” a chamber opera by Evan Premo based upon the writings of Mark Twain, tells the familiar story of the original man and woman in the Garden of Eden, discovering the world (and each other) for the first time.  The opera follows the pair as they are thrown out of Eden and come to know death, betrayal and, ultimately, love and deep companionship in their lives together.

This New York premiere at The Sembrich with stage direction by Edwin Cahill will reunite the cast and instrumentalists from the original 2007 Michigan performance of the opera: Matthew Patrick Morris, baritone; Mary Bonhag, soprano and The Aeolus Quartet: Nicholas Tavani & Rachel Shapiro, violins; Greg Luce, viola and Alan Richardson, cello.
